Can strava be private?
Enabling Enhanced Privacy allows you to manage who can follow you and see certain profile details.
You can learn more here.
Finally, we have our highest level of privacy.
If you choose to make activities private by default or on an individual basis, you will be the only person who can see this activity on Strava..
Who owns strava data?
Strava, the mobile fitness app used by cyclists and runners to track their performance with GPS, is selling the personal data of its users to governments to help urban planners improve bike routes. The Oregon Department of Transportation has already signed up for the Strava Metro service, paying $20,000 for the data.
Is strava safe to use?
You can set a privacy zone on the app, so a certain portion of your run (i.e. the first 200m from your house), is visible only to you. But Ms McLean says the safest way to use Strava is to remove the social element altogether. Strava didn’t automatically know who my Facebook friends were.
Does strava show your weight?
Is the weight I enter on my settings page public? Your weight is not explicitly listed anywhere on Strava. Do keep in mind that we have segment filters that display results by weight range so depending on your activities’ privacy settings, this may be somewhere your name will appear within a class of weights.
Can anyone see my strava?
Anyone wanting to follow you will have to be approved by you, and only those you approve can see your uploaded activities and photos. If Enhanced Privacy is switched off, then anyone can see your photos, see your full name and any logged-in Strava user can follow you and view your activities.
